එදා පිටකොටුවේ සෑම පැත්තට ම විහිදී තිබූ ගුරු පාරවල් පසු ව කළුගල් පුවරු ඇතිරීමෙන් ලස්සන වුණා. ඒ ඉංග්‍රීසි පාලන කාලයේදි යි. සූරිය ඇතුළු ගස්වැල්වලින් මේ වීදි අලංකාර වුණු බව ඉංග්‍රීසි ලේඛකයන්ගේ කෘතිවලින් පැහැදිලි වෙනවා.

එවැනි අලංකාර වීදියක් සහිත පිටකොටුවේ පෙදෙසක කොටුවට යාබද ව පිහිටි තැනක් තමයි කාපිරි මුඩුක්කුව කියන්නේ. අප්‍රිකාවෙන් කැඳවාගෙන පැමිණි කාපිරි ජාතිකයන් සිටි නිසා මේ පෙදෙසට කාපිරි මුඩුක්කුව කියන නම 1900 වනවිට ව්‍යවහාර කර තිබෙනවා. අද නම් මෙහි කාපිරි කිසිවෙක් දකින්න නැහැ.
